We are seeking to appoint two practical Technical Demonstrators specialising in analytical instrumentation and/or pharmaceutical science to be based at the University of Greenwich Medway Campus, who can provide assistance and practical demonstrations to foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate students within the School of Science curriculum area.
We’re looking for applicants who are passionate about Science. The role’s main responsibilities will be working within the Analytical Instrumentation team to provide demonstration of specialist technical and practical equipment, processes and techniques in support of a wide range of academic programmes, particularly pharmaceutical science. A student facing role, the successful candidate will work directly with students to give technical guidance and support in undergraduate and taught postgraduate labs and research projects.
During term time, you will support teaching sessions in labs. The role holder will be expected to support vocational learning in compliance with safe working practices and working closely with the technicians to contribute to maintaining the relevant work areas used for practical teaching.
Outside of teaching time, you will form part of the School’s core technical team; supporting research activity, technical infrastructure and health and safety, and carrying out administrative duties as well as assisting in supervising postgraduate project work.
We’re looking for a team player who can work on their own initiative. Good organisational skills and time management are also key.
