About the Role
Explore neurodegeneration with us! As a Research Assistant or Fellow, delve into the impact of misfolded proteins on ALS through cutting-edge techniques. Guided by Prof. Danny Hatters, you'll contribute to groundbreaking research. Join us in the forefront of neurodegenerative disease studies.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Plan and execute experiments to achieve research goals
- Foster teamwork and collaboration within the lab
- Maintain meticulous experimental records and communicate findings
- Lead independent research projects, co-supervise students, and contribute to lab activities and funding efforts
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking a candidate that is a proactive problem solver with expertise in molecular biology techniques. You should have a strong commitment to scientific integrity, thrive in collaborative teams, and prioritise safety and ethical standards in the lab.
You will also have:
- BSc (Hons) or relevant equivalent qualifications/experience
- Expertise in cloning DNA into vectors, confocal microscopy, flow cytometry or other molecular biology methods
- Experience with mammalian cell culture
For Research Fellow Appointment:
- A PhD or equivalent equivalent qualifications/experience is required for Research Fellow appointment
- Authorship on at least one peer-reviewed publication (or equivalent)
