About Us
We have built an External Relations Directorate that has brought together an integrated Communications & Engagement and Student Recruitment & Marketing service. The directorate is made up of several teams including Communications & Engagement, Marketing, Recruitment and Conversion, Outreach and Access, Design and Digital, Events and Advancement and the International Office. We are looking for team members who will be part of embedding an innovative practice to our directorate and enjoy working in an agile environment as we work towards a culture of the ‘continuous new’.
About the Job
The Prospect Researcher will support the Head of Development by managing prospect research that supports fundraising strategies.
The post holder will be responsible for the identification of alumni, philanthropic individuals, trusts, foundations, and corporations as prospects that align with pre-identified strategic priorities. The role is also responsible for the conducting due diligence of donors and have a strong understanding of the data protection regulations and how this applies to the role and will support the achievement of annual financial targets.
Other duties include:
- Conduct research on prospective donors including high net-worth individuals, corporations, trusts, and foundations, providing extensive briefings.
- Develop in-depth and well-written insight reports on prospects using internal and external data and communicate these cross-institutionally across all key stakeholder groups.
- Monitor information relating to top prospects and highlight any emerging information with the Head of Development.
About You
As a Prospect Researcher you will have an in depth understanding of the principles of philanthropy fundraising and donor motivations and use this to inform your research practices. You will have strong communication skills and be able to develop ways of cross-intuitional insight sharing to ensure alignment and informed decision making. You will also be an analytical and critical thinker who can interpret and communicate complex information ensuring it is accurate and accessible.
