Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Research Assistant within UCD School of Architecture, Planning and Environmental Policy.
About the Project:
The Bike Library project gives families the opportunity to borrow either an e-bike, cargo bike or foldable bike for a set period during the school term at no charge. This will allow them to experience using these bikes before having to decide to buy one; "try before you buy". The aim of the project is to encourage families to make a permanent modal shift to sustainable, active travel for their daily commutes. The project has deployed over 150 bikes in many schools around Dublin and collected a wide range of qualitative and quantitative data to assess the impacts of the pilot.
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Research Assistant to join our team. This role is integral to the organization and facilitation of stakeholder, community, and co-creation workshops, and it contributes to our mission to bridge the gap between top-down policies and bottom-up community needs. The successful candidate will provide assistance to the project in areas such as data collation and analysis, working closely with other team members to ensure accurate and timely results. They will work as part of a supportive, collaborative, and dedicated team, engaging in meaningful dialogue with community members and stakeholders to align project goals with local needs. This post offers an exciting opportunity to further develop both qualitative and quantitative research skills, and it represents a chance to be involved in a transformative project that can have a lasting impact on sustainable community development.
