Post-doctoral Research Fellow, School of Chemical & Bioprocess Engineering

Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1within UCD School of Chemical & Bioprocess Engineering.

We are looking for a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Research Scientist Fellow to take on a lead role in the development and economic evaluation of next-generation technologies to revalorise/upcycle waste fluorinated gases.

The current global amount of fluorinated gas in use is equivalent to 24 billion tons of CO2. Because of their contribution to climate change, the use of fluorinated gases is being phased out. However, their recovery rates are low, in part, due to their low economic value. This project aims to develop novel catalytic processes to transform fluorinated gases to high added value chemicals and, in so doing, provide economic incentives to increase the recovery rate of these greenhouse gases.

Postdoctoral Researcher 2017 Level I - Salary Scale €42,033 - €48,427 per annum

Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
