An exciting opportunity is available for a researcher within the Primary Care Research Centre to optimise an intervention to combat antimicrobial resistance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for intervention development and optimisation using qualitative think loud methods, participant recruitment, carrying out and analysing qualitative interviews and writing up study reports.

Applicants will have experience of developing behavioural health interventions. You will also have an understanding of qualitative methods, usually gained through a relevant PhD, but may also have been achieved via other research experience. Successful applicants will have demonstrated their ability to work independently and efficiently in a research context and will have excellent written English skills with meticulous attention to detail. Experience of using qualitative analysis software such as NVivo would be an advantage.

The post is fixed term for 12 months and will be offered full-time from 1st October 2023.

Applications for Research Fellow positions will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification. The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon successful completion of the PhD. Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.

For an informal discussion about the post please contact Dr Ingrid Muller (I.Muller@soton.ac.uk) or Dr Mark Lown (m.lown@soton.ac.uk).
