Description
The BioPhotonics Laboratory of Professor Sunil Kumar in the Division of Engineering, New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD), seeks to recruit a Research Associate.
The BioPhotonics laboratory at NYUAD has recently developed novel paper-based microfluidics platforms for cell culture applications and disease diagnosis. The successful candidate will lead cutting edge projects on these microfluidics platforms for translational medicine applications. The principal responsibilities will be to develop immunoassays and cell migration assays using paper microfluidics technology and to develop new methods for spheroid and organoid culture for drug testing and translational medicine applications. The Research Associate will engage in leading the scientific projects and will provide mentorship to junior postdoc researchers, graduate and undergraduate students in planning and conducting experiments, data analyses, scientific writing, and presentation. They will use the facilities of the Core Technology Platforms at NYUAD for conducting research. They may also contribute to the acquisition of research funding for future projects in the laboratory. The Research Associate will prepare reports and manuscripts for publication in journals and conferences.
Applicants must have a PhD in Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Microfluidics or related fields. The applicant must have a demonstrated track record of research experience of more than five years in cell biology, molecular biology, stem cells, cell culture techniques, microfluidics, tissue engineering, immunoassays, ELISA techniques, molecular diagnostics, and various imaging techniques.
