Position overview

This position offers a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic academic in Applied Climate Science with a strong interdisciplinary mindset. Leading the climate program in the School, the person in this role is pivotal in creating an environment that encourages integration across disciplines, both through impactful research and in the classroom. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to fostering collaborative learning environments, where they will engage with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds. In addition to delivering high-quality teaching experiences, the candidate will be expected to contribute significantly to research.

The Fenner School of Environment and Society is an interdisciplinary school with a focus on applied problems, so we are open to candidates from a wide range of core disciplinary backgrounds across natural sciences and social sciences. Teaching responsibilities require coverage of natural sciences and collaborative teaching is encouraged.

The level of appointment will be determined based on the candidate’s experience relative to qualifications, a record of teaching and research, experience outside tertiary education, creative achievement, professional contributions and/or technical achievement. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with senior mentors in the School or in the broader university community.
