This is a one-year Research Fellow post from 1 November 2023 on a Leverhulme Trust funded Research Project Grant entitled ‘Do higher public and private debt levels benefit the wealthy?’ within the Centre for Business in Society (CBiS) at Coventry University. CBiS is a leading research centre exploring aspects of responsible business.

The Role
The aim of the study is to answer the question: ‘Do higher levels of UK public and household debt increase the UK wealth concentration at the top 1% and 10% of the wealth distribution?’ Prof. Glauco De Vita will take overall responsibility for directing and managing the grant. He will provide guidance to the Research Fellow and liaise with the project’s partners at Southampton University and Cardiff Metropolitan University.
You will gather relevant literature and work alongside the project team throughout all work stages of the project. Part of the role will require contribution to the preparation and delivery of dissemination activities, including publications; and co-operate with the team in ensuring the retention and disclosure of secondary data.
You will be part of the vibrant CBiS research community and benefit from the mentoring and support provided to the whole team.
Our Successful Candidate
The Ideal candidate will possess a PhD, preferably in the area of economics/finance, with strong quantitative skills and familiarity of Stata.
With an advanced knowledge of research methods and techniques with demonstratable adherence to all regulations, you will have the ability to develop research objectives, projects, and proposals for own and joint research.
Research sufficient to write up research and produce excellent, high-quality publications in high profile peer reviewed journals and present at national/international events, you will be committed to working collaboratively on research development, delivery and dissemination including interdisciplinary or cross-disciplinary research, public engagement, and knowledge exchange.
