Job Description
- Conduct research on simulation modelling, optimization and analytics for port operations Develop simulation models to study port operations and logistics
- Analyze data from simulation models to derive insights and recommendations for improving port operations
- Work with a team of researchers and engineers to implement artificial intelligence algorithms for port operations
- Collaborate with stakeholders in the industry to understand the practical challenges and opportunities in port operations
- Manage research projects, including defining project scope, timelines, and budgets
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences and workshops
Qualifications
- PhD in computer science, operations research, industrial engineering or related field
- Strong expertise in simulation modelling, including experience with simulation framework and software such as O2DES, simpy, FlexSim, AnyLogic, Simio, or Arena
- Strong expertise in artificial intelligence, including experience with machine learning, natural language processing, and computer vision
- Understanding of port operations, including shipping, logistics, and supply chain management
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to work with large datasets
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, C# or C++
- Strong project management skills, including experience with defining project scope, timelines, and budgets
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
