About the Library 

The Flinders University Library is a pivotal resource, instrumental in supporting the achievement of the University's goals and mission. The team is dedicated to enabling equitable access to information, the library is critical to the University's learning and research endeavours. The library has branches in various locations including Bedford Park, Sturt, the Gus Fraenkel Medical Library, Tonsley and soon at the upcoming City Campus.

About the Role

We have an exciting opening within our Library team as the coordinator (Digital Strategy). The role is responsible for the planning, implementation, management, evaluation and development of integrated infrastructure, applications, and services to support the library’s digital strategy in response to the Teaching, Learning and Research activities of the University. The successful incumbent will actively motivate and coach the Digital Strategy team and staff across the Library to question traditional assumptions, promote ideas and review practices and policies to facilitate digital transformation and new automated ways of working.

Some of the key responsibilities of the position are:

  • Leading and managing the Digital Strategy team including planning and allocating staff resources, developing, coaching, and mentoring employees and managing performance to deliver high quality integrated digital infrastructure, applications, and services to support the library’s digital strategy.
  • Developing and executing appropriate plans, projects and strategies for digital infrastructure and resources ensuring interoperability with other library and university systems.
  • Coordinating the management of the Library's digital presence and resources including, evaluation of resource delivery platforms, library management systems and the integration and of online delivery of library services.
  • Collecting and analysing relevant data and information to inform decision making on team and Library deliverables and strategic direction.

About You

As the ideal candidate, you are passionate leader who can successfully lead a close-knit team of professionals consisted of librarians and technicians. You can engage and motivate your team and have an influential confidence on what is happening in this field within the library as well as the entire University. You have demonstrated high-level communication skills and can effectively liaise with stakeholders of various levels in a large organisation.

Some of the key position capabilities of the role include:

  • Exceptional written and oral communication and stakeholder management skills, with demonstrated ability in successfully building and managing complex partnerships, including with vendors and system suppliers, to deliver positive business outcomes.  
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and motivating a team of service-oriented professionals to deliver high quality services.
  • Highly developed organisational skills, including a demonstrated ability in problem solving, setting priorities, and working to deadlines with high quality outcomes; attend to detail and relate tasks to the wider context.
  • Demonstrated experience in collecting, analysing, interpreting, and reporting data, including customer insights, to drive the development of client-focussed initiatives and projects. 
  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge of the impact of digital technologies on service delivery.
