Do you want to raise some of the biggest gifts of your career? Are you interested in travelling globally to meet international alumni and supporters? Would you like to be a part of an organisation that cares about challenges that humanity faces and works to support others globally and locally?
Here at the University of Southampton, we are looking for a new Senior Global Philanthropy Manager to join our successful fundraising team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a senior fundraiser to develop new international relationships for the University, working to raise significant philanthropic income at principal (£1 million+) and higher-end major gift levels.
You will have a significant impact on the success of the University by playing an active role in planning and delivering the first university-wide fundraising campaign, recognising the significant role played by international alumni and supporters in achieving our goals. You will also work closely with colleagues across the University who are focused on delivering the International Strategic plan, to maximize engagement, cultivation and stewardship opportunities in priority regions.
You will be working as part of a broader development team which is dedicated to supporting our academic colleagues across the university in their pursuit of excellence in research and education, and in supporting the University’s purpose and vision of inspiring excellence to achieve the remarkable and build an inclusive world. ODAR is a warm, collaborative team and take a cross-office approach in our work across the Development, Alumni and Supporter Engagement, and Development Services functions.
You do not need a background in international fundraising for this position – we are looking for someone with fundraising experience who is intellectually curious, skilled at building new relationships, and is a team player. If this is you and you want to work where you can make a significant impact, both globally and locally, then we would love to hear from you.
This role is based in Southampton but requires regular international travel.
What we can offer you
We support a flexible approach to work. The office practices a hybrid working model and the successful candidate will be expected to work from the office regularly as well as from home when not travelling.
We offer a great benefits package that includes a contributory pension scheme, generous holiday entitlement, subsidised health and fitness facilities and a range of discounts.
As a university we aim to create an inclusive environment and we are proactive in fostering a culture of inclusion, respect and equality of opportunity. We believe that we can only truly meet our objectives if we are reflective of society, so we are passionate about creating a working environment in which you are free to bring your whole self to work.
