Assistant Professor in Political Science

The Department of Government at the LSE is looking to recruit a career-track Assistant Professor in Political Science with an emphasis on candidates whose research explores questions of political inequality, identity and representation with respect to gender and/or race.
The Department is working to extend its teaching and research coverage of gender and politics and/or race and politics, broadly defined, at the undergraduate, MSc and PhD levels. The position is open to candidates from across the discipline and with a wide range of methodological approaches and country or regional specialisms.
The successful candidate should normally have, or be close to obtaining (by 1 September 2017), a PhD in political science or a closely related field. Candidates should have excellent written and oral communication skills and relevant teaching experience. Candidates should also have an outstanding research track record and trajectory in this area, as evidenced by existing publications or potential to publish in top journals in political science or closely-related disciplines.
