Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for a Research Assistant/Associate(Research Nurse) position, in the Healthy Longevity Translational Research Program, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, with an affiliation with the National University Health System (NUHS) Centre for Healthy Longevity.

The Centre for Healthy Longevity (CHL), one of 6 Centres of Excellence of the National University Health System (NUHS), aims to be a leading institute for geroscience research and translation globally, to be renowned for translating research into practice to improve healthspan.

Healthy Longevity translational research program is seeking a full-time research assistant (research nurse) to perform clinical assessments and trial administration in human clinical trials. Experience in clinical research is ideal but not required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Perform routine clinical assessments, according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in ongoing clinical studies, including, but not limited to:
    1. Obtaining biospecimens such as blood and saliva
    2. Anthropometry, such as height, weight, waist circumference etc
    3. Handgrip strength, 8 repetition maximum test
    4. Blood pressure, Pulse wave analysis
    5. Administering surveys, questionnaires
    6. Administering cognitive assessments
  2. Maintain clinical trial documentation, including SOPs, data records, equipment maintenance.
  3. Assess and validate new assessment methods before implementing into clinical research.
  4. Train new staff and students SOPs, including mentoring and identifying training needs for junior staff.
  5. Recruit and schedule participants for study visits.
  6. Comply with clinical inventory management procedures.
  7. Comply with good clinical practice.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Nursing
  2. At least 5 years of experience of working in a hospital or clinic.
  3. Excellent communication skills with participants, staff and collaborators.
  4. Experience in supervisory or administrative positions is advantageous.
  5. Experience in routine clinical assessments in research studies is advantageous.
  6. Able to work independently and as a team member.
  7. Good interpersonal skills with strong leadership attributes.
  8. Must be meticulous and have good organization skills.
