The University of Hong Kong has a highly ranked engineering school and an active Mechanical Engineering Program. The Department employs about 30 full-time faculty members and has well-equipped teaching and research facilities and support. Duties and Responsibilities

  • manage research projects on fabrication of semiconductor devices
  • publish original research articles in high-impact journals
  • secure external competitive grants, either working independently or with other team members

Requirements

  • a Ph.D. degree in a discipline related to physics, electrical engineering or materials sciences.
  • a strong track record of publishing high-quality research articles
  • research experience in microelectronics fabrication, device characterizations or nanoelectronics.

What We Offer

The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a 2-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.  A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. [The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 15% of basic salary.] Other benefits include annual leave, medical benefits and free access to on-campus gyms and libraries.
