Overview

The School of Nursing and Midwifery offers courses from Bachelor to Doctoral levels in a recognised ‘student-focused’ culture with state-of-the-art facilities combined with an enthusiastic staff and supportive administration. Our research focuses on four key areas: 1. Aged Care, 2. Safety and Quality in Healthcare, 3. Improving Outcome for Adults with Chronic Health Conditions, and 4. The successful applicant’s own program of work will be conducted within a large maternity service in metropolitan Perth, Western Australia, and should include the development, piloting and refining, together with key stakeholders, of at least one midwifery initiative aimed at positively impacting new parents’ satisfaction with their birth experience.

The successful candidate will:

  • Design, coordinate, and conduct research studies with guidance as required
  • Work collaboratively with a specific health service research partner and other key stakeholders, including maternity care consumers
  • Engage in the support of research students
  • Contribute to midwifery research capacity building initiatives
