The Natural Resources Institute (NRI) (www.nri.org) is an internationally renowned multi-disciplinary centre of the University of Greenwich that undertakes research, consultancy and training to support sustainable development, food security, economic growth and poverty reduction in developing countries.

NRI is looking for a highly motivated individual capable of undertaking complex administrative tasks within a busy office environment. The successful candidate will join a team of dedicated, professional services staff within NRI ensuring successful delivery of research, consultancy, and capacity building projects with a combined annual turnover in excess £15.5 million.

On a daily basis, you will perform administrative tasks in support of effective delivery of projects that are focused primarily overseas. As such the job demands a high level of understanding of procedures and practices involved with overseas work including understanding client and partner relations, in-house subcontracting procedures and client invoicing procedures of donor funded research grants.   You will be familiar with administrative requirements of the university sector and large donor organisations and be responsible for supporting academic and professional staff in the administration of NRI’s business.  As part of a team, you shall assist with successful project execution according to University and client needs.  You will work as part of a professional services team in addition to working independently across the Institute in a flexible, demand driven role.

You will have proven experience in a broad range of administrative procedures of a busy deadline-driven office environment preferably within the development arena. This post is advertised as a fixed-term post for an initial period of two years with possible conversion to permanent based on funding availability.
