London School of Theology (LST) is a leading Evangelical interdenominational theological college in the UK and we attract students from around the world. The MA Practical Theology & Ministry programme is the first new MA programme introduced at LST for a number years and develops the range of Postgraduate taught programmes significantly.  It will be of particular interest to church leaders wishing to develop their professional practice, graduates moving into professional ministry and aspiring scholars wishing to pursue research in practical theology.  The programme comprises two parts. Part one is the taught element of five modules, and part two is the dissertation. The programme will be delivered on site, on campus and blended.  

Job Summary

LST is seeking to recruit a full-time Programme Leader and Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in MA Practical Theology & Ministry who is a committed Evangelical Christian scholar, teacher and administrator, who will work well with contracted faculty and visiting lecturers, and creatively contribute to the life of the School.
 
As this is a new programme, the position will be of particular interest and attraction to someone who is keen to deliver and develop a programme from inception. 
 
The postholder will be responsible for the effective delivery of this new programme in compliance with LST’s Validation Agreement with Middlesex University and LST’s policies, processes and practices. This 1.0 FTE position will consist of 0.5 programme leadership and management and 0.5 lecturing, supervision and research.  Key tasks include programme leadership and management, teaching and supervision, research and participation in and contribution to the vibrant life of the School.

The successful postholder will report to the Academic Dean and hold line management responsibilities in association with him. 

There is an occupational requirement for the postholder to be a practising Christian in accordance with the Equality Act 2010: Part 1, Schedule 9.  It is a condition of employment that the postholder sign annually LST’s Doctrinal Basis and maintain the key values outlined in its Ethos Statement.
