About the Role
The Research Fellow: Pharmacometrics will undertake academic and industry-funded research activities as directed by senior staff within the Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics Research Group. The position will take responsibility for the conduct of pharmacometric analysis, including data management, modelling and simulation, and preparation of publications/reports.

The position will be based within the Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics Research Group (CPTRG), which focusses on using pharmacological principles to inform optimal medicine use. Research is conducted extensively with pharmaceutical industry and regulatory authorities in the development of new drug entities, as well as clinicians and pharmacists to improve the existing use of drugs for better management of patients in practice.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide specialised expertise with respect to pharmacometric analysis and reporting
- Undertake activities integral to pharmacometric analysis, including protocol development, data management, and interrogation and analysis of clinical trial datasets to meet objectives of research projects
- Contribute to the production of a range of project reports for review by appropriate parties
- Prepare high quality reports and/or manuscripts of project findings, and manage the process of external review
- Communicate research findings at relevant national and international opportunities, including conferences, universities and other related bodies
Essential Skills and Experience
- A PhD in pharmacology, pharmacy, medicine, or related discipline
- Proven ability for innovative problem solving, and extensive experience in the application of pharmacometrics to address clinical pharmacology and therapeutic issues
- Advanced technical capacity using pharmacometric and statistical software, such as NONMEM and R
- An established track record in recording, analysing, presenting and disseminating research to stakeholders including the preparation of industry reports, high quality journal articles, and/or conference presentations, commensurate with opportunity
- High-level attention-to-detail, and ability to identify scientific, technical and methodological strengths and weaknesses
