About The Plunkett Centre for Ethics:
The Mission of the Centre is to promote the values of compassion and fellowship, intellectual and professional excellence, and fairness and justice, with its primary focus on the realisation of these values in the provision and allocation of health care through:
- Conducting and promoting research
- Providing research training and supervision
- Developing and teaching courses
- Conducting reviews of professional practice
- Providing an ethics consultation service, and
- Participating in public discussions.
About the role:
As Director you will oversee the Plunkett Centre for Ethics (PCE) in accordance with the mission, objectives and functions as set out in in the current Memorandum of Understanding between ACU and participating hospital partners. You will fulfill a senior academic position within the University reflecting ACU's position as a major partner of hospitals and healthcare providers (including aged and home care services) and as a national centre of ethical and bioethical thought in the Catholic tradition. Your focus will be to direct and share in the provision of: clinical bioethics services to hospital and aged care partners, bioethics research, teaching and professional development/formation in bioethics, public commentary, collaboration with the bishops and Church agencies in the area of bioethics. - Total remuneration valued to:
Academic Level D $184,083 - $202,637 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $155,980 - $171,838 (pro rata) pa employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading OR
Academic Level E $236,666 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $200,923 (pro rata) pa employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading. - 17% employer superannuation contributions to eligible continuing and fixed-term staff.
- Annual leave loading of an equivalent to 17.5% of four weeks' salary pro rata payable, dependent on your commencement date.
