About the Job

We are seeking an experienced professional who is familiar with working with people with disabilities in a large, complex organisation. Based within the Disability & Dyslexia Team in Student Services, you will be responsible for providing a wide range of advice and guidance to students, professional services and academic colleagues. You will also be responsible for arranging & co-ordinating support for disabled students.  

About You

We are seeking a highly experienced Disability Advisor to join our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert advice, mentorship, and learning support to adults with disabilities, specifically dyslexia, within a Higher Education (HE) or Further Education (FE) context. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the Equalities Act, Disabled Student's Allowances, and the application process for funding. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, both written and oral, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent or qualified by experience and have substantive knowledge of the Equalities Act and DSA legislation and its practical implementation within the HE sector. Excellent communication skills are essential for the role.
