IT’S TIME TO THRIVE & SHINE
OUTSTANDING OPPORTUNITIES AT ALL LEVELS FROM LECTURER TO PROFESSOR
Keen to further your career in a vibrant and diverse environment where the focus is as much on providing world-class research as it is a transformational educational experience? Then it’s time to thrive & shine at the University of East London’s Royal Docks School of Business and Law.
We are a Careers-Led University that values teaching, industry engagement, and research equally. We are continually investing in our facilities and staff so that we can further build upon our 125 years’ success as an anchor institution in East London. Our aim is to enhance our industry connections and further build upon what is already a thriving research function. Whether it’s business, management, political economy, international relation or law and criminology, we foster an inclusive and vibrant research environment to enable you to produce high quality, impactful research output while enjoying genuine career development opportunities.
The post holder of Lecturer in Financial Management (Fintech) will provide high-quality teaching, research, enterprise, and professional activities to benefit students as part of the teaching team. The key duties and responsibilities include acting as a module leader, teaching and assessing students in various subjects, designing and delivering engaging learning experiences, equipping learners with relevant skills, contributing to program improvement, supervising student work, providing academic support, engaging in university activities to enhance the student experience, working with external partners, contributing to organizational planning, promoting equality and diversity, and fulfilling assigned duties from the Dean or designated representative.
To join us you’ll need some success in research to date, including having been published recently and prolific in attending conferences, public speaking etc. A lecturing/teaching background in HE would be beneficial, but we’re aware teaching excellence exists in other educational contexts, such as FE; and a desire to lead learning is also evident in career professionals working within business and law. A proven track record in business and/or chartered accreditation such as CMI, CIPS, or CIPD, for example, would be a fantastic addition to our faculty. And, if you’ve coached and mentored (ILM qual) in a leadership role and passed your learning on to others, we would be interested in your application. If you have a passion for education and creating successful graduate outcomes, plus a real desire to play your part in one of our specialised hubs of like-minded experts to pioneer our students’ future then please consider contacting us for an informal conversation or alternately, simply apply.
