Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for a Research Assistant in the Centre for Behavioral and Implementation Science Interventions (BISI), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. BISI comprises of an international team of policy and practice experts in research and education with the aim to accelerate evidence-based practice through the use of behavioral and implementation sciences. We work with policy makers, leaders, practitioners and providers to design, implement and evaluate transformative healthcare policies and programmes to deliver and sustain better patient- and system-level outcome. This is a regular full-time position of which the contract is renewable, subject to performance.

Purpose of the post

The incumbent will work closely with the principal investigator (PI) to support research in BISI and contribute to the centre’s research and education strategies. He/she would be the point of contact between staff, external parties (i.e. stakeholders, collaborators) and the PI. He/she will work with a team of researchers and admin staff on a regular basis to assist with research projects.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The key job responsibilities are as follow:

  1. Assist with research administration to ensure that research and related activities are performed in accordance with institutional regulations and sponsoring agency policies and procedures, including preparation of ethics and other regulatory/institutional documents and maintenance of PI file as required.
  2. Assist with research activities led/appointed by the PI such as study management, monitoring and tracking study budget and timelines, answering questions related to the study and working with other researchers/PIs.
  3. Provide administrative support to the PI. This includes coordination of meetings, logistical support for visitors and staff and managing of the PI’s calendar.
  4. Procure or acquire materials needed for research and liaise with vendors.
  5. Assist with data collection or analysis as required in BISI research projects.
  6. Perform other related duties incidental to the work or as assigned by the leadership.

Qualifications

The applicant should possess:

  • A good degree in any relevant discipline
  • Relevant experience within an academic or healthcare setting is advantageous.
  • Working knowledge in research ethics and HBRA is advantageous.
  • Experience with research project management
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to operate effectively within a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Technologically savvy and proficient in Microsoft applications like Word, TEAMS, Excel and Power-point
