We are looking for a highly motivated Research Fellow candidate to join Dr Jiong-Wei Wang’s research program aiming at developing new nanomedicine therapies for glaucoma in the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at National University of Singapore. Glaucoma, a progressive neurodegenerative disease of the optic nerve, is the leading cause of irreversible blindness in the world. More than half of glaucoma patients continue to suffer progressive visual damage despite the current best treatment approach. The candidate is expected to work independently in a dynamic and multidisciplinary environment, develop drug nanoformulations and scaleup production. Apart from own projects, the candidate shall supervise junior staff and students, and provide support to the research group, as delegated by the PI. The appointment is on a 1- or 2-year contract base in the first instance, with a possibility of extension.
Qualifications
The applicant should have:
- A PhD degree in pharmaceutics, pharmacology, chemistry, or biomedical research; preferably with experience in drug formulation, analytical chemistry and preclinical testing.
- An excellent publication record in drug delivery or nanomedicine.
- Team player with an investigative nature and attention to details.
Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. The candidate is eligible for 28 days annual leave and staff welfare including medical insurance.
Only shortlisted candidates will be notified. Contact: Ms Michelle Tan, surmts@nus.edu.sg
