The Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FAH) is seeking a Research and Enterprise Officer to work proactively with academic and professional service colleagues to deliver on key initiatives that contribute to the Faculty’s strategic vision for Research, Enterprise & Knowledge Exchange.

About the role:

This role will work in partnership with the existing Research & Enterprise Officer and alongside the FAH Associate Dean for Research & Enterprise, Impact Framework Manager, and other colleagues to provide to develop and implement the Research & Enterprise strategy across the Faculty, aligning with the aims of the University’s Research and Enterprise strategies. Although the role will provide broad support for the research environment in the Faculty, it will focus on providing specialist support to impact activities, providing advice and working alongside academic colleagues across the Faculty. You will improve the Faculty’s approach to evidencing research impact, and provide Faculty leadership for the Research Excellence Framework cycle and Impact Acceleration Accounts. The role will also provide leadership and line management to Research Administration colleagues.

You will:

  • have proven experience of supporting research activity in higher education (and ideally specific experience of the Research Excellence Framework)
  • have good working knowledge of research administration, and ideally experience of managing Impact Acceleration Accounts or similar
  • have exceptional writing skills to support funding applications
  • apply analytic and evaluative skills to research and enterprise activities
  • be an excellent communicator and able to build relationships both internally and externally

This post is offered on a full time permanent basis. The post holder will be required to spend time at University locations in both Southampton and Winchester. We also support hybrid working arrangements to support a positive work-life balance.
