Description
The Department of Political Science at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in American Politics beginning August 2023. Successful candidates will have research and teaching interests in American politics and political institutions. The successful candidate will be required to teach our introductory course in American Politics as well as American Political Thought. The successful candidate may be asked to teach more broadly in American Politics, such as Constitutional Law or Political Theory. A Ph.D. in Political Science or a related field is required at the time of appointment. The successful candidate will teach both in person and online courses. Candidates from underrepresented groups are especially encouraged to apply.

Work Location:
Typically, on-site; position may be partially remote, based on the semester-to-semester need of the department, as determined by the supervisor. Remote work will be available for emergency events. This will be offered based on the emergency and allowance will come from leadership and the guidelines provided at the time of the emergency.
This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
What We Offer:
Salary Range generally starting at $63,000 - $65,000 per academic year
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to move. Employee is occasionally required to have long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements and fine motor skills. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
