TH Köln seeks to appoint
President
as of May 1, 2024.

TH Köln is managed by an Executive Board, which currently consists of the Presi-dent as chairperson as well as the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Vice President for Research and Knowledge Transfer and the Vice President for Financial Affairs and Human Resources.

The cooperative management structures require and enable a team-oriented form of cooperation within the Executive Board as well as with the stakeholders in the currently twelve faculties, the university administration and the central institutions. As president, you are thus expected to have comprehensive competencies in these areas, along with the ability to represent the university with aplomb on a national and international level.

Dealing with the tasks, interests and demands of the various parties involved re-quires joined-up thinking and action as well as distinctive communication, integra-tion and negotiating skills to balance the heterogeneous expectations - internally as well as externally - and to consistently implement the concepts agreed upon with the university's committees. Strategic development calls for a strong vision and a commitment to shape the university’s future, as well as an excellent understanding of the culture of a university and its governance structures, which you will decisively influence. You have a university degree, several years of experience as a professor and extensive leadership experience in higher education and science. You are ex-pected to be sensitive to the interests and needs of the university’s stakeholders and to have a good knowledge of the German higher education system.

The tenure of office is six years. The appointment is on a temporary civil service ba-sis (W3 salary group plus an allowance for exercising this function) or on a tempo-rary private law employment basis. Re-election is possible.TH Köln is committed to providing equal opportunities and seeks to increase the proportion of women in leadership positions. Applicants with disabilities will be given preferential considera-tion if they are equally qualified.

Please send your German-language application documents in written or digital form by July 31, 2023 to the TH Köln’s University Advisory Board, Gustav-Heinemann-Ufer 54, 50968 Cologne, Germany or to fkp@verwaltung.th-koeln.de.
