Post Doctoral Research Fellow, School of Information and Communication Studies
Applications are invited for a specified purpose post of a Post Doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 within UCD School of Information and Communication Studies
With the widespread use of AI, there is a strong social need to understand how AI can be developed and used safely and ethically. There is a demand for expertise in this area from across industry and the public sector and to meet this demand, the School of Information and Communication is collaborating with UCD Micro-credentials to develop a suite of educational resources on AI Ethics. The aim of the project is to research the latest advances and thinking in the area of AI Ethics and develop educational content using innovative tools and topical use-cases to bring knowledge of AI Ethics to a broad group of people from AI developers to those new to AI and interested in exploring the impact of AI in society.
Salary Range: 42,033 - 48,427 per annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependent on qualifications and experience

The PD1 position is intended for early stage researchers, either just after completion of a PhD or for someone entering a new area for the first time. If you have already completed your PD1 stage in UCD or will soon complete a PD1, or you are an external applicant whose total Postdoctoral experience, inclusive of the duration of the advertised post, would exceed 4 years, you should not apply and should refer to PD2 posts instead.
