About the role
The sessional Lecturer / Senior Lecturer contributes to the design, management and delivery of teaching subject modules within the Master of Business Administration. Subjects are categorised as follows:
- HR & Organisational Behaviour
- Leadership
- Economics
- Finance & Accounting
- Marketing
- Strategy
- Entrepreneurship
- Digital Transformation
- Business Analytics
The Lecturer / Senior Lecturer is responsible for providing a high-quality teaching and learning experience to students, achieved through ongoing development of scholarly activity in the allocated subject(s) and learning and teaching practice.
The Senior Lecturer (Level C) takes an active role in coordinating moderation and quality assurance activities, developing other teachers, and inspiring students to be career ready.
Examples of Accountabilities
- Student Consultation and Engagement
- Prepares and delivers classes in line with ICMS (International College of Management, Sydney) learning and teaching principles
- Assesses student assignments and grade student performance
- Academic Quality Assurance
- Follows ICMS policies, procedures and guidelines for teaching and learning.
- Ensures all required levels of assessment moderation are carried out in line with relevant policy and procedure
- Academic Administration
- Teaches at various locations and in different modes as agreed, ensuring quality and consistency in terms of content, delivery, assessments, and evaluation
- Implements innovations in learning & teaching using technology
- Attends end of term sign off meetings with Program Manager
- Leads and coordinates other academic teachers in academic administration within the allocation of a subject
- Reflects on own teaching practice contributing to the end of term teaching and subject reflection
- Injects current discipline and industry knowledge into subject content to ensure the subject is relevant and contains emerging trends in the field of education
ICMS Culture
- Leads by example and demonstrates the ICMS values as detailed in the Code of Conduct, and behave, act, and always communicate to reflect fairness, ethics, and professionalism.
- Actively contributes to the ICMS culture, events and displays and fosters ICMS values in others.
About you
- To be appointed at Level B or C, you will have or be able to demonstrate:
- Appropriate AQF+1 qualifications in a relevant discipline
- Proven record of accomplishment of ability to teach a diverse range of students
- Industry experience and engagement with the professions
- Membership of or participation in a relevant professional association
- Sound interpersonal and communications skills
- Experience working in a team-based environment
- An understanding of ICMS vision and how it can be implemented into learning and teaching
- Master’s Degree
- PhD qualification in relevant field or meet requirements demonstrating equivalence
- Record of accomplishment or ability to lead one or more subjects
- High-level experience and competence in leadership, teaching, scholarship, and administration
- Ability to implement institutional vision into teaching activities
- Ability to promotes a student-centred culture and establishes respectful relationships in work and study
- Develop meaningful and impactful partnerships with the broader community, by actively engaging and collaborating with external stakeholders.
- Promote the performance and reputation of the Institution through engaged scholarship
To be appointed at Senior Lecturer, Level C, you will have or be able to demonstrate:
- Ability to implement institutional vision into teaching activities
- Promotes a student-centred culture and establishes respectful relationships in work and study
- A track record in developing meaningful and impactful partnerships with the broader community, by actively engaging and collaborating with external stakeholders
- Ability to promote the performance and reputation of the Institution through engaged scholarship
Award and Pay Details
- Educational Services (Post-Secondary Education) NSW 2020
- Lecturer (Level B) salary is $100,776 FTE incl. PhD rate (to be pro rata’d)
- Senior Lecturer (Level C) is $110,656 FTE incl. PhD rate (to be pro rata’d)
Term details
- Opportunities commence from Term 3 2023 (Late August) and Term 1 2024 (early February).
- Sessions are for 13 weeks
