Research Fellow, Compound Climate Extremes

Job Description

Applications are requested for Research Fellow (Postdoc) positions on compound extreme analysis with Prof. He Xiaogang, Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS). The overall objective of this work is to better understand the characteristics and drivers of different types of compound climate extremes. The candidate will develop novel physics-guided data-driven models to quantify how climate change and human activities alter these compound extremes (e.g., compound flooding) at regional and global scales.

Job Requirements

• Possess a PhD. in hydrology, hydroclimate, risk analysis, climate science, or from similar programs.
• Extensive experience in developing complex computer codes, e.g. in Python, R, or Shell.
• Ability to construct and write papers for leading research journals and conferences.
• Good written and spoken communication
• Open to fixed-term contract
