Role Description

Lecturer in Multiple Agent Systems Control

We welcome applications for this exciting new Lecturer post from passionate, prospective candidates to join our team and to support the strategic development of Cranfield’s engineering activity within the Centre for Autonomous and Cyber-Physical Systems. 

About the Role

You will be leading research to strengthen the Centre’s international reputation as well as providing high quality postgraduate teaching to a few MSc courses, e.g., Autonomous Vehicle Dynamics and Control MSc, and our research student program.

About You

You will be educated to doctoral level in a relevant subject and have evidence of significant independent contribution to the design and execution of research as well as experience of generating, securing and delivering significant research programs.  With excellent communication skills & relevant previous experience in teaching at undergraduate & graduate level, we are in particular seeking individuals with an international profile in aerospace engineering and systems, and aerospace science and technology, especially on multiple agent systems and control, to develop research areas in topics such as 

• Guidance, navigation, and control
• Cooperative control
• Network control and control over network
• Modelling of networked autonomous systems, like in the form of switching ODE/PDE 
• Sampling of autonomous local nodes over network for estimation
• Decision making, such as resource/task allocation
• Sensor/data fusion over network
• Cooperative situational awareness
• Fault tolerant guidance and control
