The Faculty Relations Manager serves as a neutral, independent, informal, and private conflict management resource for UCCS faculty members. This is a part-time position, working about 6 hours per week on average. This position will report to the Provost & Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.

Job Duties:

The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide informal and confidential assistance to any faculty member who is experiencing unresolved problems with others in the university community or those with concerns about university-related academic or administrative issues.
  • Coach faculty members in strategies for managing their own conflicts.
  • Foster communication as appropriate between individuals involved in a conflict.
  • Mediate disputes informally.
  • Conduct informal fact-finding when appropriate to better understand an issue.
  • Guide faculty members to the appropriate mechanisms and resources to address their grievances.
  • Collaborate with the Offices of Institutional Equity and Human Resources .
  • Collaborate with the Provost, other Vice Chancellors, college Deans, and Faculty Assembly Grievance Committee to resolve issues.
  • Communicate with the Provost and Faculty Assembly Grievance Committee about trends in issues seen by the Faculty Relations Manager.
  • Promote understanding on the campus of the role and responsibilities of the Faculty Relations position.

Job Competencies:

Work Location: Primarily remote position, workspace on the UCCS campus can be used and reserved on a drop in basis

This position has been determined to be eligible for overtime (non-exempt) under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

Hourly Pay Range: Generally starting at $42.30 - $48.08 per hour (~ $13,200 - $15,000 per year) at 15% time.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

Tentative Search Timeline:

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
    • Achieved rank of Full Professor with Tenure
    • 4 or more years of Administrative experience in higher education

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Academic Training in related field such as counseling, labor relations, organizational development, or human resources
    • Advanced training in mediation, facilitation counseling or related fields

    Physical Requirements:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. Employee is occasionally required to move. Tasks may involve looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
