We are delighted to announce our search at the University of East London for the inaugural Head of Research Excellence. This institutional role will have responsibility for the development and delivery of the University of East London’s Research Excellence Framework (REF) strategy and submission in consultation with the Pro Vice-Chancellor Impact and Innovation, the Director of the Office for Postgraduates, Research and Engagement and the wider Impact and Innovation portfolio team.

The Research Excellence team is located in the Office for Postgraduates, Research and Engagement (OPRE) which provides holistic support for the development and implementation of the University of East London’s research, knowledge exchange and engagement strategies and activities. This includes providing support for research bid development, liaison with funders and post award delivery, initiatives to foster collaboration across the university, the facilitation of public and community engagement and provision of support for impact activities and tracking.
We are seeking an experienced leader to develop and deliver the University of East London’s Research Excellence Framework (REF) strategy and submission and play a pivotal role in the development of a strategic plan which addresses the next phase of our flourishing research environment. You will bring experience of providing expert knowledge and guidance regarding the Research Excellence Framework requirements, strategies for driving quality outputs and impact and the UK’s research policy environment.
