About the opportunity

We are seeking a Social Media Assistant to work closely with the social media team in implementing the University's social media campaigns across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter. As part of the Brand and Content Team you will work collaboratively with Marketing and Communications colleagues to ensure that content and campaigns achieve objectives and adheres to best practice and brand guidelines.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • collaboratively work within a drive, creative team to support delivery of best practice social media campaigns
  • support execution of organic and paid social media campaigns and execute testing strategies to optimise performance
  • assist Marketing and Communication teams with content creation, scheduling and optimisation
  • support daily moderation with the University's social media community on central channels
  • help provide regular social media reporting and insights to drive stronger channel growth and engagement.

About you

  • has tertiary qualifications within marketing and communications or in a relevant field
  • ideally has 1+ years' experience working within social media for an organisation or similar experience
  • sound understanding of social media and digital communications trends and strategies
  • demonstrated ability to write high quality communications and to tailor writing style for different audiences
  • strong stakeholder management skills, able to build and maintain relationships
  • excellent project management skills with capacity to manage competing priorites, maintain attention to detail and meet deadlines.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
