A product of these times, we have always been ready to go beyond the familiar and forge new ways forward.

About the Role

We are currently seeking an Executive Officer to provide high-level support to the President and Vice-Chancellor. Reporting to the Chief of Staff, this is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled professional with experience in an executive setting to undertake and manage a broad range of activities with the Office of the Vice-Chancellor.

You will provide support to the President and Vice-Chancellor in preparation for Board and Committee meetings, provide secretariat support to the University’s Senior Executive Team meetings, prepare key documents, including executive and discussion papers, prepare and review key correspondence, and facilitate communication between the Office of the Vice-Chancellor and the internal and external communities of Flinders University.

Working collaboratively with members of the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, you will ensure the provision of highly efficient and effective executive services.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have advanced interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with substantial experience within an executive context.

You will have the ability to demonstrate initiative in your work, have high level problem-solving and decision-making skills, strong attention to detail, strong time management, as well as the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across all stakeholders’ groups.

Some of the key position capabilities of the role include:

  • High level capability to triage activities quickly and effectively and lead a support team competently in delivering a high standard of outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret complex information across a broad range of topics and provide advice on high level matters.
  • Extensive experience in the preparation of reports, documents, briefings, and presentations to a very high standard.
  • Demonstrated ability in using initiative, problem-solving, priority setting and working to deadlines, with high level organisational capabilities.
