Director of Research

Diabetes Australia is the national body for the 1.4 million Australians living with all types of diabetes and those at risk. We are committed to reducing the impact of diabetes. Diabetes Australia is a respected and valued source of information, advice and views utilised by the government and the community. Our credibility and independence as a national voice allow us to translate knowledge and evidence into advocacy and programs for people living with or at risk of diabetes.

As part of a high performing leadership team, the inaugural Director of Research will bring vision and strategic leadership to help realise our ambitions for research performance and impact aligned with the new Diabetes Australia Group strategy.

Our research approach will be innovative, adaptive, transdisciplinary, and inclusive. Engaging with the diabetes research community and breadth of stakeholders, the Director will explore a suite of initiatives to help drive performance, bring innovative ideas to life and ensure our research matters.

This senior leadership role offers an unrivalled opportunity for an established diabetes research leader with a vision and passion for research excellence and impact. Able to demonstrate a mix of strategic leadership, innovation, communication, engagement, fundraising and collaboration skills, they will contribute to shaping a long-term research strategy that will enhance the impact and reputation of Diabetes Australia.
