The School of Health and Life Sciences is seeking to recruit 2 (one 1.0 FTE and one 0.5 FTE) Clinical Skills Facilitators who will introduce innovative techniques into areas of academic delivery with specific attention to development and delivery of clinical skills, simulated activities, and interprofessional simulation. These are new positions that will contribute to the development and implementation of immersive learning and simulation facilities within the School of HLS.

The post holder will contribute to the organising and delivery of innovative approaches to simulated learning and clinical skills within pre-registration nurse education and contribute to the development and delivery of simulated learning in our wider healthcare teaching portfolio.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or with equivalent experience in a similar role demonstrated through relevant and practical work experience. Extensive practical experience as well as theoretical and practical knowledge in Clinical Skills & Simulation is essential. Being a registered nurse/midwife/paramedic/allied health professional is desirable as is demonstratable experience as a facilitator in a clinical simulation facility with a variety of simulation modalities.

Good written, verbal and online communication skills are essential, as is the ability to explain technical details in a non-technical manner to academic colleagues. A flexible and adaptable approach to work is crucial with the ability to work in a team environment, supporting colleagues and sharing expertise.

These posts will be based at our Ayr Campus with travel required to work at any UWS campus to meet needs of the business.
