We're the University of East London (UEL) founded in 1898 and proud to change lives through education. Our goal is to advance industry 5.0 careers-first education and provide a clear path to the jobs and opportunities of the future. We're committed to driving diversity in the 5,0 talent pipeline, working in partnership to promote talent wherever it is found and creating a balanced inclusive, and green future.

But we can't achieve this goal alone. We need forward-thinking, innovative, and curious individuals like you to join our community and help us craft our future. As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of people who share your passion for creating positive change. We’re an inclusive and welcoming community that is constantly moving forward, never satisfied with the status quo.

About Us

Do you have experience of working in a HE office environment where you used SITS or a similar student record system and liaised with people from a wide range of backgrounds? Are you looking for a challenging role in an environment that is open, vibrant and welcomes new ideas? Then join the University of East London’s Academic Partnerships Office as a Global Experiences Officer.

About the Job

Your challenge? To help our Global Experience Manager to build on and deliver the University’s ambitious and values driven internationalisation strategy, including the Turing Scheme, Online International Learning and other related projects by effectively collaborating with partner institutions. But that’s not all. An exciting and varied role, it will see you deal with admissions and student administration, support Study Abroad and inbound exchange students, help organise student events and much more besides. On any given day you could be administering applications, responding to queries, providing advice, helping to organise an orientation programme for students or keeping records up-to-date. And, when it comes to carrying out general office duties like mail management, responding to telephone and personal callers; or servicing team meetings and events, again, we’ll rely on you.

About You

To succeed, you’ll need to be educated to A level or equivalent and have experience of working in a customer-focused HE environment, possibly in a Study Abroad/Student Exchange setting. Great at prioritising and managing your time to meet deadlines and comfortable managing multiple tasks, you have excellent attention to detail and the all-round communication skills it takes to deal with individuals at many levels, in the University and externally. What’s more, you have a flair for proactively identifying opportunities to improve processes and implement improvements to enhance service delivery and are adept at analysing problems and finding potential solutions. Sensitivity in dealing with international and study abroad students from different backgrounds is important too, as is the ability to work in a small team and on your own initiative, while your IT skills should include proficiency in word-processing and familiarity with database packages and spreadsheets.

So, if you have what we are looking for and are keen to take on an exciting new challenge, get in touch.
