Post-doctoral Fellow in the Sau Po Centre on Ageing within the Faculty of Social Sciences (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)
Sau Po Centre on Ageing is a rapidly expanding centre that aims to become a leading research centre on gerontology in Greater China and the Asia Pacific region. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree, preferably with a multi-disciplinary education background, for example in health science, nursing, engineering, computer science, or other related discipline. Those with research experience in gerontechenology and/or applying technology solutions to studies are preferred. They should demonstrate strong competency in IT and/or application, experimental design, data analysis and have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese).
The Principal Investigator is leading a research focus on developing technology in fall assessment and prevention among older adults. In particular, the appointee is expected to contribute to innovative scholarship in gerontechnology such as user-centric approach, technology-enabled fall assessment, intervention, and prevention, etc. in multi-disciplinary research projects. The appointee will assist the Principal Investigator in publication, managing and monitoring the project implementation; overseeing data collection and data analysis; preparing presentations and reports; and supervising other research-support staff. He/She will have ample opportunity to collaborate with scholars with multi-disciplinary background, service professionals and domain experts. He/She will also support on other relevant tasks as assigned by the Centre’s Director.
