The Natural Resources Institute (NRI) (www.nri.org) is an internationally renowned multi-disciplinary centre of the University of Greenwich that undertakes research, consultancy and training to support sustainable development, food security, economic growth and poverty reduction in developing countries.

NRI is looking for a highly motivated individual capable of undertaking development of NRI’s websites and bespoke information systems and strengthening first-line support to NRI staff and post-graduate students, using NRI’s systems and liaising with the University central IT support teams. The successful candidate will join a small multi-skilled IT Team ensuring successful service delivery of research, consultancy, and capacity building projects with a combined annual turnover in excess £14.5 million.

On a daily basis, the successful candidate will support NRI staff and post-graduate students to ensure effective delivery of projects. Experience will include PHP/Perl/SQL working in a UNIX/LINUX environment. Communication skills are key, as much of the communication with stakeholders may not be face-to-face. Working as part of a small team in addition to working independently across NRI, this service-based role requires flexibility and the ability to respond quickly and creatively to user demand. This is primarily a campus-based role. The successful candidate will have proven experience in both a technical and customer support role.
