Faculty / Directorate

The Faculty of Business and Law is the largest faculty by size, and home to a diverse range of courses at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. The faculty equips students with the skills and specialist knowledge to prepare and develop entrant industry professionals with the knowledge and expertise to make a significant difference to the world of business that they live and work in. We pride ourselves in preparing responsible leaders for the future, who are able to take on the challenges of the business workplace in today’s every changing landscape. 

Role

As part of our drive towards growth and excellence at DMU Dubai, we are looking to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Business and Management. Successful candidates will join the current diverse subject team whose expertise spans the broad areas of business and management.

Providing excellent teaching in the relevant areas of expertise and gaining positive student feedback is a core requirement and true for this role. Your teaching duties will include preparation and delivery of lectures and seminars, including the work required to ensure the module(s) under your leadership are administered with excellence.

You will be required to provide overall leadership to the faculty, specifically to develop and provide programme level leadership, support teaching teams involving more junior colleagues and adjunct staff. You will engage and contribute in the overall development of the subject area. (Senior Lecturer requirement.)

Of particular interest are applicants who exhibit experience and expertise in and can teach one or more of the following: 

• Business ethics, 
• Corporate social responsibility and sustainability, 
• Project Management, 
• Leadership and Management,
• Organisational behaviour and supply chain management.

We are looking for academics who have or aim to have a portfolio of research activities that offer realist prospect of publication in international refereed journals. Ideally your research portfolio should revolve around one or more of the areas highlighted above. (Senior Lecturer requirement.)

There will be opportunities to be an active citizen of the subject group and the faculty, to pursue your passion in any area of your interest beyond you assigned teaching duties, in engaging in research and scholarship, international collaborative partnerships, support on corporate/executive education and to work closely with local business communities.

Ideal Candidate

Candidates must have demonstrable teaching experience in business related disciplines at UG and/or PG levels. You should have a collegial approach to work and be willing to work positively within team environments. You will strive towards teaching excellence and demonstrate familiarity with innovative teaching methods and techniques. You should be innovative in your approach to teaching and be willing to develop a portfolio of research activities in relevant business–related disciplines.

We are particularly interested in applicants who have teaching experience in any UK & UAE system. Who hold a PhD in any related discipline, with the ability to teach in our preferred fields of expertise as described above. 

The Degree must be attested and Equalized as per the UAE system - Ph.D. Equivalency in MOE & KHDA - UAE.
