Fixed term, part time position available for 4 years.

The Palliative Care Program is seeking a post-doctoral fellow to be part of a developing network of palliative care researchers and clinicians that aim to improve access to and delivery of palliative care within underserved populations.

One of three post-doctoral candidates funded by The Hospital Research Foundation, the successful applicant will engage in participatory approaches, specifically within culturally and linguistically diverse communities, to transform palliative care systems and practices within South Australia. Working with multiple community and clinical organisations and an extensive multi-disciplinary team, the post-doctoral fellow will identify palliative care needs and priorities within under-served communities, capturing real-time, lived experiences of those facing death and bereavement; increase death literacy within under-served communities; and, elicit, synthesize, and build on expertise and effective, valued existing resources within communities, service-providers, healthcare systems, and researchers.

To be successful you will need: 

  • Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, presentations, publications, and ethics applications
  • Ability to work independently and solve complex problems through using skills and expertise
  • Ability to provide advice and support to post graduate or honours students
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritise work, set and meet deadlines, and work independently as appropriate

This position requires a valid National Police Clearance Check
