Our Postgraduate programmes are ranked 9^th in the Sunday Times 2021 Good University Guide, and 5^th in the Russell Group. 

About You

You will be a committed researcher with a track record commensurate with your experience, and will contribute to the future development of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. You will enrich the intellectual culture of Criminology and share in the strategic development of Criminology as central to Social Sciences at Southampton. We welcome applications from all areas of Criminology, but especially encourage applicants with expertise in both criminology and psychology (in particular how cognitive psychology and/or social psychology can be used to help understand crime). Applicants may also have expertise in areas such as cybercrime, counter-terrorism, including the violent far right and Incel extremism, hate crime, genocide, environmental crime, marginalisation relating to race and ethnicity and/or disability and crime, and media and crime. We also welcome applicants whose work bridges criminology, sociology, and research methods.  

For this role you will have a track record in teaching and research, producing high quality publications and showing commitment to the securing of research funding. A doctorate or equivalent professional qualifications and experience, in an aligned social science discipline is essential.
