Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Assistant for EMULSION programme in the Department of Medicine, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.  The EMULSION programme is a large concerted effort by clinicians, scientists, and engineers to tackle Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD). EMULSION aims to establish a rich clinical and multi-omics database, as well as cutting-edge personalized in-vitro models and in vivo pre-clinical models, to drive discovery and development of diagnostics and therapeutics for NAFLD.

The Research Assistant will work closely with the Principal Investigator, Research Fellows, study team members and EMULSION’s partner institutions to lead EMULSION’s research efforts and facilitates industry engagement and collaboration.

Job Responsibilities

  • Biological sample collection, processing and bio-banking management according to standards
  • Conduct experiments required under the project – culture work, molecular work, and animal work
  • Assist Research Fellow with analyses of longitudinal epidemiological data and high-dimensional data derived from high-throughput technologies such as genotyping/sequencing, methylation, metabolomics, proteomics to understand the pathogenesis of the disease.
  • Assist to develop and interpret statistical data of various projects.
  • Assist with writing reports, publications and grant application
  • Publish of quality research articles and conference proceedings.
  • Research and lab administration and support

Qualifications

The candidate must hold a degree in medicine, biology or related fields with strong research background. Previous experience in statistical analysis and publication writing and project   management will be useful and preferred.

Meticulous, highly-motivated, self-discipline and the ability to work in a team are required qualities. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily management of his/her project in coordination with the supervisor and other members of the group.

Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
