About the role

The Institute of Health and Wellbeing offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in exercise and sports science, nursing, midwifery, paramedicine, psychology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, public health, speech pathology, work health and safety, and research.

As an integral member of our team, you will contribute to the development and delivery of courses within the nursing discipline at undergraduate and graduate levels and contribute to the Institutes research program and administrative functions.

At a Level B you will:

  • undertake teaching and assessment of undergraduate, honours and postgraduate students;
  • undertake research activities;
  • supervise students undertaking project courses and honours programs; and
  • participate in team projects and various committees as required.

At a Level C you will:

  • provide leadership in developing, teaching, coordinating, and moderating courses in nursing;
  • undertake teaching and assessment of undergraduate and postgraduate students;
  • supervise students undertaking project courses, honours programs and research higher degrees; and
  • make a significant contribution to research activity within the Institute.

About you

You will work as part of the Institute’s team of academic and administrative staff. You will possess proven educational, research and professional experience and seek to embed long and short-term research strategies for the Institute within the strategic framework of the University and in accordance with its mission. You will be a creative thinker and avid problem-solver, who possesses initiative, innovation, and a can-do attitude.

At a Level B you will possess:

  • current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
  • commitment to scholarship and a potential for academic advancement;
  • commitment to and enthusiasm for teaching;
  • previous experience in academic administration; and
  • ability to work collegially

At a Level C, you will also possess:

  • hold current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
  • capacity supervise honours and research postgraduate students;
  • ability to develop and implement a student-centred approach with a focus on student success, including the ability to monitor student success initiatives; and
  • hold a demonstrated record of research at an international level.
