Professor/Assistant Professor/Associate Professor in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science

The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at Khalifa University of Science and Technology (KU) is the largest academic unit within the College of Engineering with a long tradition of excellence in academic teaching and research. EECS encompasses diverse fields such as advanced communications and information systems, information and computer security, e-services and networks, multimedia processing and communications, software engineering, app development, embedded systems, artificial intelligence, and bioinformatics, power engineering, to name a few. EECS offers BSc degrees in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering (with an optional concentration in Software Systems), and Computer Science, as well as MSc and Ph.D. programs in EECS. Qualifications

The Khalifa University of Science and Technology (KU) in Abu Dhabi invites applications for several Open Rank Faculty positions concurrently with the launching of its new Robotic Programs.

A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in related disciplines from an accredited institution is required. Preference will be given to candidates with education from and/or previous service in distinguished institutions of higher education. The Department has a particular (but non-exclusive) interest in applicants with research expertise in Natural language processing, Quantum Computing, Distributed and Cloud Computing, Computer Graphics, Visualization and Gaming, digital system design, semiconductor devices, and fabrication and robotics. The department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching, and service.

For the newly launched Robotics program, we encourage applications from scientists and engineers from the entire spectrum of robotics, from modeling and design to perception, control, and robot learning. They should demonstrate a core-area of scientific expertise and a solid theoretical foundation with a desire to apply this knowledge to solve important challenges in fields like service and industrial robots, aerial or underwater robotics, construction, precision agriculture, or mobility and logistics. Specific areas of research may include (but are not limited to) intelligent perception and scene understanding, manipulation and enhanced human-machine interaction, robot and sensor design, soft robots, modeling and control, or robot learning.

Candidates should have an established research reputation or outstanding research potential, the ability to attract external research funding, and a strong commitment to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
