Applications are invited for appointment as Lecturer/Assistant Lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering (Ref.:520309), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

The Innovation Academy of the Faculty of Engineering is established for nurturing future innovators to generate impactful ideas and products. The Academy serves as a magnet to attract new talents to work together on innovative projects through a series of programmes and activities designed to capture three goals: Inspire, Equip and Showcase. 

Applicants should possess a Master’s degree or above in in engineering or STEM fields, with at least two years’ teaching experience in subject(s) related to engineering or STEM at the University level, preferably solid experience in developing out-of-classroom learning activities for students and managing makerspace. Preference will be given to Ph.D. degree holders and those with extensive teaching experience.

The appointee will contribute to out-of-classroom teaching and learning initiatives at Innovation Academy and Tam Wing Fan Innovation Wing of the Faculty of Engineering. Duties include event/programme design and delivery, student advisory, coordination of hands-on and experiential learning activities, and development of academic and industrial partnerships. The appointee will also assist in overseeing the daily operation of the Innovation Academy and Tam Wing Fan Innovation Wing. Those with higher qualification and more experience may be considered for appointment as Lecturer. 

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary for Lecturer, or up to 10% of basic salary for Assistant Lecturer.
