We have a great opportunity to join our Marketing team supporting the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, based within the University of Surrey in our state-of-the-art facilities. The Faculty is a truly inspirational and fascinating environment to work in with our academic colleagues delivering teaching to over 4000 undergraduate students training to be the Nurses, Paramedics, Midwives, Bioscientists, Psychologists, and Veterinary Surgeons of the future.  Our facilities and those of the wider University present a wonderful backdrop for the right person to contribute to wider society and develop their skills and career.

The role 

As named first marketing point of contact for five of the Faculty’s Schools and Departments, you will quickly become an invaluable team member, working as part of a motivated team with the opportunity to build your skills and career. There’s lots of variety, lots of interaction with academics, research colleagues and students and the opportunity to learn and develop personally and professionally. In terms of context, this role is part of the wider University Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions Team. In this role you will be empowered to work individually and collectively across the marketing team and the Faculty, to engage a wide range of audiences and to support our student recruitment. Reporting to the Faculty Marketing Manager, you will be a critical member of the Faculty Marketing team, supporting the stakeholder management and assisting with the development and implementation of marketing plans to support the recruitment of applicants, as well as supporting other marketing activities across the Faculty. You will effectively communicate to internal and external audiences and ensure good communication channels between the Faculty and the Central teams. Supporting the Marketing Manager, you will contribute to the planning and development and implementation of marketing activities, measuring success and return on investment through continual analysis and feedback.  

About you 

  • Great relationship management skills and an ability and confidence to work with a variety of different stakeholders and colleagues
  • Knowledge and experience of understanding project and campaign planning
  • Understanding of marketing concepts and applications
  • Experience of managing a diverse workload, and the ability to multi-task concurrent projects across a variety of Schools/ Departments
  • Experience of the digital environment and how best to use this channel for effective marketing.

Demonstrable passion and enthusiasm for the Health and Medical Sciences would be desirable.
