The role - Te mahi

We are seeking a Research Fellow to conduct a one year Gates Foundation funded project that will characterise field-lab link studies in tuberculosis over the last 20 years in relation to samples and data of relevance, gauge investigator willingness to engage in more global collaboration around these resources, and explore possibilities for a regularly updated user-friendly inventory to serve the global research community in solving fundamental questions.

This project will be done in collaboration with world-leading experts in field-lab link studies in TB and who are part of the Gates Foundation's Consortium for tuberculosis vaccine discovery (CTVD). Aspects of this role will involve facilitating a process to enhance connections between world-leading tuberculosis initiatives globally and the possibility of enabling new questions to be addressed, including some on a scale not possible before. Depending on the researcher's own expertise, there may be opportunity to explore his/her own research questions over the course of the year, related to the overall project.

This position represents an exciting opportunity to spend a year in New Zealand, build connections with the global tuberculosis research community and lay a foundation for future research and collaboration.
