Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Senior Research Engineer in Cardiovascular Biomechanics (Computational) within UCD School of Mechanical & Materials Engineering.
This full-time position is funded by a Disruptive Technologies Innovation Fund (DTIF) grant, led by Cro Valve Ltd. (https://www.croivalve.com/) in collaboration with Blueacre Technology Ltd. (https://blueacretechnology.com/). The Senior Medical Device Engineer will join an experienced multidisciplinary team focused on the development and evaluation of medical devices in the UCD Medical Device Design Group, part of the UCD Centre for Biomedical Engineering and the School of Mechanical & Materials Engineering.
Cro Valve is developing a Best-In-Class minimally invasive solution for severe Tricuspid Regurgitation (TR). This project focuses on developing a preclinically validated solution to enable treatment of >90% of patients with Tricuspid Regurgitation, where UCD will develop state-of-the-art computational models and benchtop test rigs for device performance evaluation.
The Senior Medical Device Engineer (Computational) will be responsible for computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and fluid structure interaction (FSI) simulations of the CroiValve DUO XL device in line with BS EN ISO 5840.
Salary Range: 49,000 - 59,170 per annum Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
